Cheesy Baked Potato & Beef Casserole
This Cheesy Baked Potato & Beef Casserole is comfort food at its best—layers of tender potatoes, savory ground meat, creamy sour cream, and plenty of melted cheese. It’s hearty, easy to prepare, and perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients
- 1 kg ground meat (beef or chicken)
- 500 g potatoes, thinly sliced
- 400 g grated cheese
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tsp red pepper
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried garlic
- 50–70 g butter
- 400 g sour cream
- Olive oil
- Tomato sauce (about ½ cup)
- Water
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes
- Place the sliced potatoes in a bowl. Season with salt, spices, and a splash of water.
- Transfer to a baking tray and bake at 200°C (400°F) for 20 minutes until slightly tender.
Step 2: Cook the Meat Mixture
- In a large skillet, melt butter with a drizzle of olive oil.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
- Stir in ground meat, garlic, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook until browned.
- Add tomato sauce and simmer for a few minutes until well combined.
Step 3: Assemble the Casserole
- Spread a layer of sour cream over the baked potatoes.
- Spoon the cooked meat mixture on top.
- Finish with a generous layer of grated cheese.
Step 4: Bake
- Return the dish to the oven at 200°C (400°F) and bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, golden, and bubbly.
