A delicious and easy-to-make breakfast casserole that can be prepared the night before, perfect for family gatherings or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of bread (French or challah)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, making sure to soak all the pieces.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Remove the dish from the refrigerator and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden and set.
  8. Serve warm with maple syrup and fresh fruit as desired.

Notes

Use day-old bread for better texture. Feel free to add your favorite mix-ins, such as chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit. Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar to the egg mixture based on your preference.
